North Texas Celtic Strings
North Texas Celtic Strings is educational music program for kids and adults! This program has roots into Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra as a side ensemble program for kids, which started in 2019, but then it derived to a separate program, fully conducted by versatile violinist and fiddler KeyReel Raskolenko, who had been playing Irish and Scottish music more than 15 years as a fiddler and more than 30 years as classical violin player. He mastered his technique overseas in Ireland, Scotland and Cape Breton (Canada). His ensemble, NTCS already played recitals in Allen Public Library, Carolyn Nussbaum's flute shop, The Celt Irish Pub and they will play fall recital of 2024 in Gillespie Tavern at Shire. Mission of this program is to let people from different music background learn tunes by ear and communicate between each other, playing not only tunes, but also grooves, rhythms and be able to accompany each other. Advanced level is coming up, where NTCS can be sufficient String ensemble to play different parts.
