Kathleen Jackson was brought up in a musical household. Her father, brother, and uncles taught her to play and sing, and most evenings, instruments and voices rang out through their west Texas home. She participated in band and choir in high school, sometimes leading younger student groups. She performed solo with her guitar for civic organizations and small festivals in and around her hometown. She performed with her brother and uncles through her college years. After moving to Dallas, she became the choir director of a small Lutheran Church where she led the children’s and adult choirs. Kathleen taught for Dallas ISD for many years and her younger students would “earn” the privilege of singing with her most weeks. She’d bring her guitar and they would romp through many folk favorites and motion songs. Kathleen is a veteran of NTIF and looks forward to engaging children at the festival with songs they can romp through and sing along with.
